Difference Between a Smoke Alarm and a Heat Detector

Why do people choose a heat detector instead of a smoke alarm? The main difference is that a heat detector only responds to temperatures within a range of 57 to 62 degrees Celsius. The room in which a fire alarm needs to be installed determines the type of alarm. Rooms where a lot of smoke, steam, or dust may be produced are not suitable for smoke alarms. For rooms such as a bathroom, kitchen, or storage room, a heat detector is highly suitable.

Interconnectable Heat Detectors

You can, of course, connect multiple heat detectors to each other. For example, you can connect the FH3801R heat detector with other ELRO interconnectable products, such as a smoke alarm, carbon monoxide detector, gas detector, and water detector. When one of the detectors sounds an alarm, the other detectors will also go off. You can also connect these interconnectable products to the ELRO Connects Smart Home system, allowing you to be alerted through the ELRO Connects App. In this app, you can also receive notifications when the battery is low and test the heat detector.

The ELRO Connects App is available to download free of charge from the App Store and Google Play Store.

Maintenance

It is important to keep heat detectors clean. This is very easy to maintain by cleaning the detector once a month with a vacuum cleaner. We do not recommend using cleaning products when cleaning the detector. When cleaning the heat detector, it is also advisable to test it immediately.
